1. Street Art:
Meaning: a small container for drinks made of glass or similar material, with a flat base and usually with no handle

Exemple: They sneaked out at night to do some street art. (Ils se sont faufilés la nuit pour faire du street art.)
2. Modern Art:
Meaning: art that was produced in the late 1860s through the 1970s and that rejected traditionally accepted forms and emphasized individual experimentation and sensibility

Exemple: I wish to visit a modern art museum someday. (Je souhaite visiter un jour un musée d’art moderne.)
3. Graffiti Art:
Meaning: writings or drawings made on surfaces in public places
French: art du graffiti
Exemple: The subway was filled with graffiti art. (Le métro était rempli de graffitis.)
4. Contemporary Art:
Meaning: Contemporary art is the art of today, produced in the second half of the 20th century or in the 21st century
French: art contemporain
Exemple: There have been many developments in contemporary arts in the past years. (Les arts contemporains ont connu de nombreux développements ces dernières années.)
5. Digital Art:
Meaning: Digital art is an artistic work or practice that uses digital technology as part of the creative or presentation process
French: art numérique
Exemple: Photoshop and illustration are good platforms for digital art. (Photoshop et l’illustration sont de bonnes plateformes pour l’art numérique.)
6. Painting:
Meaning: a picture created by putting paint on a surface, or the activity or skill of creating pictures by using paint
French: la peinture
Exemple: The three year old loved painting. (L’enfant de trois ans adorait faire de la peinture.)
7. Drawing:
Meaning: the act of making a picture with a pencil or pen, or a picture made in this way
French: dessin
Exemple: What did you learn in drawing class? (Qu’as-tu appris en cours de dessin?)
8. Sculpting:
Meaning: the art of creating solid objects that represent a thing, person, idea, etc. out of a material such as wood, clay, metal, or stone
French: sculpture
Exemple: She was sculpting the hands of her parents together. (Elle sculptait les mains de ses parents ensemble.)
9. Culinary Arts:
Meaning: Culinary arts, in which culinary means “related to cooking”, are the cuisine arts of food preparation, cooking, and presentation of food, usually in the form of meals
French: arts culinaires
Exemple: She had great interest in culinary art since she was a little girl. (Elle avait un grand intérêt pour l’art culinaire depuis qu’elle était petite.)
10. Performing Arts:
Meaning: forms of entertainment such as acting, dancing, and playing music
French: arts de la scène
Exemple: She wanted to excel in some form of performing arts. (Elle voulait exceller dans une certaine forme d’arts de la scène.)
11. Photography:
Meaning: the activity or job of taking photographs or filming
French: la photographie
Exemple: It is necessary to photograph regularly to master photography. (Il est nécessaire de photographier régulièrement pour maîtriser la photographie.)
12. Animation:
Meaning: moving images created from drawings, models, etc. that are photographed or created by a computer
French: animation
Exemple: Animation is now loved not only by kids, but adults too. (L’animation est désormais appréciée non seulement des enfants, mais aussi des adultes.)
13. Architecture:
Meaning: the art and practice of designing and making buildings
French: architecture
Exemple: We love seeing pieces of ancient architecture. (Nous adorons voir des pièces d’architecture ancienne.)
14. Sand Art:
Meaning: Sand art is the practice of modelling sand into an artistic form, such as a sand brushing, sand sculpture, sandpainting, or sand bottles
French: art de sable
Exemple: He made a santa clause using sand art during Christmas. (Il a fait une clause de père Noël en utilisant l’art du sable à Noël.)
15. Folk Art:
Meaning: pictures, objects, etc. that express something about the lives and feelings of ordinary people in a particular group or country, especially those living in the countryside
French: art populaire
Exemple: We should preserve folk art and not let it die. (Nous devons préserver l’art populaire et ne pas le laisser mourir.)
