1.Graduate: a person who has a first degree from a university or college.
Translation: obtenir une licence
E.g. He is a graduate of Oxford University.
2.Curriculum: the subjects studied in a school, college, etc. and what each subject includes.

E.g. The school curriculum this year is difficult.
3.Qualification: an official record showing that you have finished a training course or have the necessary skills, etc.
Translation: diplôme (nm)
E.g. Rob has a TOEFL qualification.
4.Coursework: work set at regular periods as part of an educational course.
Translation: devoirs, devoirs maison (nmpl)
E.g. She has finished the coursework for her PHD.
5.Co-educational: having male and female students being taught together in the same school or college rather than separately.
Translation: (homme/femme) mixte (adj)
E.g. The school Valerie went to was co-educational,
6.Literacy: the ability to read and write.
Translation: lire et écrire (loc v)
E.g. Rhianna teaches literacy to students with special needs.
7.Illiterate: unable to read and write.
Translation: analphabète (adj)
E.g. The man was illiterate and did not understand the forms he was signing.
8.Primary (elementary) Education: the first stage of formal education, coming after preschool and before secondary school.
Translation: enseignement primaire (nm)
E.g. He hasn’t even finished his primary education.
9.Secondary Education: it covers two phases on the International Standard Classification of Education scale.
Translation: enseignement secondaire, secondaire (nm)
E.g. Gorge went to Poland to finish his secondary education.
10.Higher (tertiary) Education: is tertiary education leading to award of an academic degree. Higher education, also called post-secondary education, third-level or tertiary education, is an optional final stage of formal learning that occurs after completion of secondary.
Translation: enseignement supérieur (nm)
E.g. He worked in higher education for over 40 years.
11.Concentrate: to direct your attention or your efforts towards a particular activity, subject, or problem.
Translation: se concentrer (v pron)
E.g. It’s hard to concentrate in class when Alice keeps talking to me
12.Professor: a teacher of the highest rank in a department of a British university, or a teacher of high rank in an American university or college.
Translation: professeur d’université (nm)
E.g. Larry is doing a doctorate so that he can become a professor.
13.Academic: relating to schools, colleges, and universities, or connected with studying and thinking, not with practical skills.
Translation: (relatif à l’université : diplôme,…) universitaire (adj)
E.g. Leslie is more interested in sports than in academic pursuits.
14.Lecture: a formal talk on a serious subject given to a group of people, especially students.
Translation: conférence (nf)
E.g. The professor gave a lecture on the history of China.
15.Tutor: a teacher who teaches a child outside of school, especially in order to give the child extra help with a subject he or she finds difficult.
Translation: (à domicile) professeur particulier (nm)
E.g. Rick was struggling in maths, so his parents got him a tutor.
